About The Program

Stopping Disease Before It Starts

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Tanzania. Most of these conditions are preventable through early intervention and lifestyle changes.

Our Primary Prevention of NCDs program takes a proactive approach to health. Instead of waiting for diseases to develop and then treating them, we work with individuals, families, and communities to identify risk factors early, educate about healthy lifestyles, and implement preventive measures that can stop diseases before they ever take hold.

Through a combination of public health check camps, community-based jogging clubs, school health programs, workplace wellness initiatives, and sports group partnerships, we've helped over 60,000 people across Tanzania understand their health risks and take control of their wellbeing. Our evidence-based approach has proven effective in reducing the incidence of chronic diseases in the communities we serve.

Community Health Screening Camp

Our Major Interventions

We implement comprehensive primary prevention strategies across multiple settings, reaching people where they live, work, learn, and play.

We assist primary schools to organize health programs for teachers and pupils, including routine health checks, debates on diet and nutrition, and intra/inter-school health competitions with jogging activities ('mchakamchaka') and sports.

D

Workplace Health Promotion

We assist workplaces and offices to develop health programs for employees in banks, hospitals, hotels, insurance companies, churches, colleges, and other organizations, promoting healthy lifestyles in professional settings.
